"This morning I woke up unable to breathe through my nose. Given the number of hands I shake on a nightly basis, and the fact that I have a terrible immune system, it’s not uncommon for me to contract something during after show signings. That being the case, I would very politely ask that if you’re planning on getting anything signed after any of the remaining shows that you refrain from extending your hand, or not be offended if I decline a handshake. It is, by no means, a sign of disrespect whatsoever, simply a precaution.
