Room and Bored

well well. two more days till my return to vancouver. I spent the better part of last week cleaning out the debacle that is my parents house... that and checking email, facebook and craigslist. the hunt for a job and an apartment continue.

It was a varietable spring cleaning and i feel good about it. Hopefully my parents and bro keep with the program. DONT HOLD ON TO EVERYTING.
The weather has finally started to turn and you can actually see my back porch. The snow is almost gone from the driveway (although the grass is far from showing though the good foot and a half blanket). We're hitting plus 5 or so with sun everyday so spring is in the air in port credit.

I got my hair cut - exciting! i really love it, part pixie, part rockstar, all red. Katie's summer cut has arrived. now all i need is summer! :)

I'm heading back to vancouver to shack up with Dman at his Clark Park penthouse. Hopefully my two check-ins and two carry-ons will fit into his bedroom.

Hilariously in my job hunt i applied to work as a bartender at YVR. Krista (johnnys lady) was previously telling me how much amazing cash she made when working at Pearson (toronto airport) and when I saw the vancouver job post i couldnt resist. So they called. So after my 5 hour flight, which leaves at 7am toronto time and arrives at 9am vancouver time i'm heading to a job interview. From the plane, to the interview literally. It could be a good opportunity and seriously, if the money rocks, then so do I. Beyond that I have no idea. ;)
I took a look at the camera Union rumor list, production list and day call list (cause i'm a super-spy) and it mostly depressed me. Nonetheless the job scene seems like it's on the move and I might be a cart pusher yet again. pray for mojo. I guess I do miss it though. Because i'm a sado masochist and a glutton for punishment. But hey. It's in the job description i think. in fact, i'm sure it's the first line of the camera trainee manual. in red font. "You must love to be punished."

...and i miss the people. certain people. haha. bitterness is bliss. I love you guys.

that's all for now. but i'll be back before i'm gone.

Now he's in the air flying back to a place where there is no snow. vancouver...jeez, feels like forever ago/away.

An amazing week of friends, drinks, deep FRY, Basketball, bowling, Darwin, comedy, bathtubs of water (niagra falls!!) and mom and dad. oh, and snow. Snow. SNOW. shit i hate snow. we're 17cm away from beating the history record of snowfall. since the 30s!! kill me.

free fallin'

Tom Petty, thankyou. You figured out one damn fine peice of music history.
You had me at hello.

so i've discovered the best part of the "at home dance party" is the fact that the music never sucks. and the lack of any kinda cover charge is also amazing. I think my true calling is to be a club owner... and i'm also drunk.. so i'm AMAZING!

I dont think enough people really understand the genius that is the dance party. When was the last time you just let go? let yourself dance? I mean, it's not something everyone really gets, but it's definetly an amazing experience. just dance. do it. just dance. turn on the tunes and dance. you will not be disapointed.

I'm so sad that the scene of just DANCING has kinda died in the mainstream. The club scene isn't about dancing... right? it's gross. like, "please have sex with me cause you're drunk" is much more appropriate...
and i dont really know steps and such, not enough to go out "dancing" if it exists, country line dancing? swing? etc...

A bar with a smart DJ that can read a crowd is tough to come by... heard of any in toronto? right, like everywhere. This city is full...I realized tonight that it doesn't really matter where you go on a saturday night in TO, it will be packed. Amazing. i miss night life... Vancouver, i'm sorry, your great, but FIND A NIGHT LIFE! it' s pretty pathetic.
The underground scene (in Van) is much better then the mainstresam, but i'm definetly disconnected. Taryn... i need you! Remember the unicorn ladies??? or even limeric junktion with a good dj was AWESOME. I guess i need to get over it... Toronto is something that can't be matched... but thank goodness! perhaps the "at home" dance party is the solution... yeah it is!

something's fishy ...

I am increasingly bothered at the lack of cheap sushi in port credit/my life at the moment. I'm pretty sure it's one of my favorite things to eat and fankly, it's rough not to have it.

To add insult to injury i'm eating grocery store (superstore no less) cali rolls and a thai salad roll and frankly, they aint good.
I suppose i should have known but in desperation i went for it. big mistake. Dont buy grocery store sushi.

I was shopping for boots today at the mall (Oakville Place, no less) and was slighly appauled at the number of women with girls between the ages of 3 and 8 who were like ants on a sugar hill at La Senza Girl. I suppose i'm ignorant and arrogant enough to assume that they are looking at g-strings and pushup bras for children. So it makes me a bit upset.
ps. what DO they sell there?

Dusty is here soon and i'm stoked. 5 more sleeps!
